Last week I went to the Extraordinary Desserts location in Little Italy for the first time.  My original post can be found here. While I've known that there is a location in downtown, I didn't really know exactly where it was until I went last weekend.  And that is when I discovered just how close it was to my work.  Only a few blocks! Such a discovery is probably not good for my wallet or for my stomach. Ah well.

So I needed to go to another building for work the other day, and the path to that building went right by Extraordinary Desserts.  Since I have no will power when it comes to food, I couldn't resist stopping by on my way back.

As you can see, this location is pretty big.  I didn't notice the outside seating last time.

When I went inside, it was virtually empty.  However, the desserts were quite plentiful.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get any shots of the gorgeous display of desserts.  There was so much to choose from!  Cookies, cakes, muffins, bread pudding, coffee cake, scones, danishes, etc.  While I would have loved to stick around and try the famous chocolate croissant bread pudding, I did have to go back to work, so I didn't try it on this trip.

After hemming and hawing for a while, I finally settled on a chocolate coffee cake and a chocolate scone.

This is the chocolate coffee cake, adorned with flower petals, gold foil and chocolate bark.  I had been craving coffee cake for a while and had never had chocolate coffee cake before.  I find it to be a bit too sweet for me, but pretty good.  This didn't keep well in the fridge though.  I saved most of it and tried to eat it the next day and it was already pretty hard.

Here is the chocolate scone.  Ordinarily I like fruit scones, but I hadn't particularly enjoyed the raspberry one I had on my last visit because of their use of jam in the middle, so I thought maybe the chocolate would be better.  I found the scone to be a bit hard, and there are large chunks of hard chocolate inside.  While I liked the taste better than the raspberry one, still not my favorite scone.

I was a bit disappointed with what I picked up.  These did not taste as good as the cakes I had on my last visit. Next time, I'll go for more cake slices, the homemade ice cream and the chocolate croissant bread pudding.
